This album is about the aspects of every day life that make you feel like you're drowning on dry land. It's the culmination of over a year's work and has been the most challenging collection of songs I've ever created.
I wanted something more cohesive, adventurous, and unique than I had ever done before. From late 2014 to mid 2015, I had been creating more and more skeletons that just couldn't come together well enough for me to feel confident about releasing it.
Late last year I realized I hadn't released anything since 2014, and something switched inside my brain that caused me to go back to the drawing board and start fresh (though some skeletons came along for the ride).
Drowning Machines falls under that unique hodgepodge of genres I usually sculpt under - electronica, post rock, futurebeats, and even a minor bit of hip hop instrumentals - but the entire project is me.
I truly hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening!
